Audemars Piguet Debuts New White Ceramic 34mm Ceramic Automatic Watch Audemars Piguet launched the first Royal Oak series 34mm self-winding watch completely made of white ceramics. Its design follows the model 77350CE black ceramic model that will come out in 2021. Gold screws, hands, hour markers, the outer ring of the bottom cover and the rotor create a contrasting effect. The new Royal Oak 34 mm self-winding watch and the models released in the previous two years are all designed in monochromatic colors with rose gold details. The surface follows the 50th anniversary upgrade design of the Royal Oak series that debuted in 2022, using the classic "Grande Tapisserie" large-scale check pattern, with fluorescent coating rose gold hour markers and hands, and rose gold three-dimensional Audemars Piguet produced by electroplating sign. The outer edge of the sapphire crystal glass bottom cover is outlined in rose gold, which echoes the 22K rose gold automatic disk clearly visible under the bottom cover. The stainless steel AP folding buckle is decorated with black DLC diamond-like carbon coating, forming a strong contrast.
The hardness of white ceramics is higher than that of black ceramics. In order to interleave the brand's classic matte grinding and polished chamfering on the case and chain strap, Audemars Piguet once again broke through the limits of craftsmanship. The eight hexagonal screws that lock the bezel to the case are specially crafted in 18K rose gold and finished by hand. Finally, the ingenious design created last year is used: the links of the ceramic strap are connected with the hidden pins built into the connecting buckle, and there is no trace of it.
The Audemars Piguet 5800 self-winding movement was specially developed for the Royal Oak 34mm watch in 2020, providing a 50-hour power reserve and a water resistance of up to 50 meters. Through the sapphire crystal glass bottom cover, some parts of the movement and the 22K rose gold automatic disc can be seen at a glance, with top-level finishing decorations such as Côtes de Genève, pearl dot polishing, satin polishing and sun pattern.
